ThankServing Day 2018

ThankServing Day was a perfect, sunny day at CSM where hundreds of giving people
came together to serve thousands of people in Birmingham with grateful hearts
What happens when hundreds of people donate their time and resources to provide thousands of families with everything they need for a Thanksgiving feast— including the turkey? ThankServing Day happens! The Saturday before Thanksgiving is the annual event at CSM where food is sorted and cars are loaded for special deliveries.

Every year gets sweeter and bigger as more and more people are inspired to join in to serve the under-served with grateful hearts. This year, CSM collected and secured enough food to serve 6,500 families! Partnering with local churches and organizations who minister to these families throughout the year, we served together from 31 distribution sites within one weeks time to make the holiday a special time for thousands of people in Birmingham.

Hand-delivered food and turkeys to families
Groceries and turkeys were delivered by families and individuals, who became the recipients of the greatest blessings of the whole experience. These face-to-face encounters with families brings the mission of connecting resources with needs into a clear view with a personal perspective that inevitably wrap around your heart.

If you were here on ThankServing Day this year, you were a part of a very special outpouring of love all over Birmingham, and we are grateful for you. We are also grateful to the sponsors and contributors that made this year’s huge event possible. A big Thanksgiving Thank-You goes to: Royal Cup, Flowers Bakery, Publix, Golden Flake, eMeals, Community Food Bank, Buffalo Rock, and Marino Foods for helping to make this big miracle happen.
