For the last several years, the first grade teachers of the Westminster School at Oak Mountain have been bringing their classes to Christian Service Mission to serve with us during our Thanksgiving and Mother’s Day initiatives. This month they brought about fifty first grade students to write encouraging Thanksgiving letters to the families that will be receiving our “Baskets of Kindness” in November. Each student created between five and ten Thanksgiving cards encouraging and reminding our underserved families of Christ’s love for them. As adults, we often neglect to dwell on such a basic, yet life-changing phrase, as “Jesus loves you”. These first graders from Westminster have reminded our staff and the families that we serve on Thanksgiving of the simply extravagant love of our Savior. Thank you teachers and students of Westminster for the great reminder and hearts of servitude that you display to us at CSM!
